Should You Put Grease On Battery Terminals. Grease not to mention petroleum jelly will liquefy in the heat and eventually form an insulating barrier that will cause a loss of electrical power. Dielectric grease works well to prevent corrosion but anti-corrosive spray works better in my opinion.

Grease not to mention petroleum jelly will liquefy in the heat and eventually form an insulating barrier that will cause a loss of electrical power. You can but theres no need. Its not as important using a sealed battery as effectively there should be no leakage but some people still grease them as a matter of habit If you do decide to then before making your connection to the battery first smear petroleum jelly eg Vaseline over the terminal post then wipe the excess around the connectorpost after tightning.
The stuff Ive had the best luck with is CRC same company that makes Brake-Kleen Battery Terminal Coating.
Or use a conductive grease but dont use that in connectors with multiple circuits as you dont want conductivity between those circuits. Dielectric grease can preserve the connections. Posted October 18 2014. A little goes a REAL long way.
