If The Negative Terminal Of A 12v Battery Is Grounded. An automobile is isolated from earth ground by the rubber tires but the 12V battery negative terminal is connected to the car chassis forming the chassis ground. These days ALL 12v circuits in cars and boats made in first world countries are negative ground systems no exceptions maybe some backwater POS Russian.
